Role Overview
Lead Geologist at Ma'aden. This role drives mineral resource discovery and growth across Ma'aden's exploration portfolio, translating geological interpretation, drilling outcomes, and technical insights into greater resource confidence, future mine development options, and informed investment decisions.
Role Purpose
This role strengthens exploration performance, resource quality, and long-term business value by leading geological activities that advance priority targets, improve resource estimates, and deliver drilling and field programs with high technical quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Exploration Strategy and Resource Growth
- Shape exploration plans that advance priority targets and resource growth opportunities.
- Define mineralization potential through disciplined geological interpretation and technical evaluation.
- Deliver drilling and field programs that improve resource confidence and project readiness.
- Convert exploration results into clear recommendations for portfolio and investment decisions.
Drilling and Field Execution
- Lead exploration drilling, mapping, sampling, and field activities across assigned assets.
- Optimize field execution to improve safety, productivity, cost control, and technical quality.
- Coordinate contractors, equipment, and resources to deliver exploration priorities.
Geological Data and Technical Insights
- Maintain accurate geological data capture, validation, interpretation, and reporting.
- Develop geological models and technical outputs that strengthen resource evaluation.
- Improve geological databases, records, and quality controls to protect data integrity.
- Identify geological risks and opportunities that affect resource confidence and project value.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Align exploration activities with resource development, mining, study, and business priorities.
- Provide expert guidance that supports technical decisions and cross-functional alignment.
Governance and Continuous Improvement
- Maintain compliance with safety, environmental, technical, and reporting standards.
- Apply leading exploration practices, tools, and technologies to improve performance.
- Build technical capability and promote knowledge sharing across exploration teams.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Geosciences, Earth Sciences, or a related discipline.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in geology, exploration, or resource development.
- Experience leading exploration drilling, geological modelling, and resource evaluation activities.
