Role Overview
Lead Cost Estimation Engineer at Wood PLC. The role focuses on cost estimation, control, and contract management for large and complex oil and gas projects.

Role Purpose
To establish and manage contractual cost control and estimation frameworks for major energy projects, evaluate technical and commercial bids, coordinate cost governance across project delivery partners, and ensure accurate cost tracking and variation management throughout project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Contract Development and Tender Management
- Develop contractual requirements relating to cost control and estimation, invoicing of payments, and variations to be stipulated in agreements (FEED, PMC, EPC, etc.) and incorporate them into tender documents and agreements.
- Evaluate technical bids (PMC, FEED, and EPC) to ascertain compliance to specified requirements and provide clarifications to bidders.
- Prepare relevant portions of the Technical Evaluation Report and finalize relevant portions of contract documents after incorporating all bulletins issued and clarifications received during the tender stage.
Cost Control and Analysis
- Evaluate variation requests and claims by contractors and conduct in-depth analysis of all cost-related submittals from consultants.
- Prepare counter-estimates taking into consideration contractual schedule of unit rates for variations and make appropriate recommendations to management for approval.
- Prepare AFE and AFOU for all ongoing projects for management approval.
- Ensure charges of costs to correct account codes.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with Project Control Managers of all Project Management Consultants (PMC) to ensure adherence to Project Control Procedures and other requirements throughout the project duration to achieve successful project implementation.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering in related discipline.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in similar role.
- ADNOC projects experience is mandatory.
- Experience on Offshore Projects.
