Lead Civil Engineer – Offshore Island Project

Role Overview

Lead Civil Engineer – Offshore Island Project with KBR. The position is based in Abu Dhabi, UAE, with planned relocation to the Spain office before returning to Abu Dhabi upon completion of administrative processes.

Role Purpose

The Lead Civil Engineer will manage and coordinate all civil and structural engineering activities for ADNOC offshore projects, ensuring compliance with project specifications, ADNOC standards, international codes, safety requirements, quality targets, and project schedules.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Engineering

• Lead civil and structural engineering design activities for offshore oil and gas facilities.
• Manage engineering deliverables including civil design basis, structural calculations, foundation design, concrete and steel structures, and underground utilities and drainage systems.
• Ensure compliance with ADNOC, ADNOC Offshore, and international standards including API, AISC, BS, Eurocodes, and ASTM.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and design reviews.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including process, mechanical, piping, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines.
• Interface with clients, consultants, EPC contractors, and vendors on technical matters.
• Review and approve engineering documents, drawings, specifications, and technical reports.

Delivery & Execution

• Monitor engineering progress and ensure deliverables are completed within schedule and budget.
• Support procurement, construction, commissioning, and site engineering activities.
• Address technical queries and resolve engineering issues during project execution.

Leadership & Mentoring

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to civil and structural engineers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering; Master's Degree preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent certification is advantageous.
• Minimum 15–20 years of relevant experience in Oil and Gas, EPC, or Offshore projects.
• At least 5 years in a lead or supervisory engineering role.
• Extensive experience working on ADNOC, ADNOC Offshore, Saudi Aramco, QatarEnergy, or other major Middle East offshore projects.
• Proven experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, and EPC project execution.

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of ADNOC Engineering Standards and Specifications.

Additional Information

• Recent ADNOC Offshore project experience preferred.
• Previous involvement in offshore platforms, artificial islands, substations, or brownfield modification projects preferred.
