Laundry Supervisor

Role Overview

Laundry Supervisor at Marriott International, Le Méridien. This position oversees laundry operations, equipment, and staff to ensure clean, well-maintained linens and uniforms for guest and operational use.

Role Purpose

Manage daily laundry operations including inventory, equipment operation, staff supervision, and quality control. Ensure all linens and uniforms meet standards, safety procedures are followed, and the team delivers consistent, efficient service.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Equipment

• Operate and monitor washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery.
• Visually inspect tools, equipment, and machines to identify defects.
• Report faulty equipment, maintenance needs, and safety hazards to manager or supervisor.

Inventory & Quality Control

• Complete inventory of uniforms and linens.
• Conduct monthly inventory of laundry supplies.
• Inspect linens and terry for damage.
• Verify that laundry requests are completed for each department as needed.

Staff Management & Training

• Train employees on all laundry procedures, including safety procedures and equipment operation.
• Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.

Safety, Compliance & Reporting

• Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures.
• Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
• Complete safety training and certifications.

• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information.
• Protect company assets.
• Speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Prepare and review written documents accurately and completely.

Qualifications & Experience

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• Related work experience: At least 1 year.
• Supervisory experience: At least 1 year.

Additional Information

• Physical demands: Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period or entire work shift. Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing 25 pounds or less without assistance. Move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces. Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and up and down stairs or service ramps. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
