Role Overview
Lathe Machinist (Oil & Gas) with ABIS, based at a manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will operate lathe machines to fabricate and modify precision components used in the oil and gas industry.
Role Purpose
Operate lathe machines to produce precision parts for the oil and gas sector while maintaining high quality, safety standards, and efficient machining operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Machining
- Set up and operate lathe machines to produce precision parts for the oil and gas sector.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Maintain and adjust machines to optimize performance.
Quality & Inspection
- Perform measurements and quality checks to ensure parts meet required tolerances.
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Carry out routine maintenance and troubleshoot machine issues.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
Collaboration
- Collaborate with engineering and quality control teams to meet production goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or equivalent in machining, mechanical engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience working as a Lathe Machinist, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in operating lathe machines and related manufacturing equipment.
- Attention to detail with a focus on precision and quality.
- Good understanding of safety standards and practices in machining operations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
