Role Overview

Laser Technician - RN at NMC Healthcare. This is a registered nurse position requiring specialist qualifications and experience in laser technology and treatment.

Role Purpose

Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care programmes within the scope of practice, prioritizing patient health, wellbeing and safety at all times while maintaining professional standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Assessment

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care under the indirect supervision of senior nursing staff.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Seek timely expert advice or senior nursing support when a patient's condition fails to respond to prescribed treatment.

Professional Standards & Conduct

• Uphold the reputation of the nursing profession at all times.
• Act as a positive role model for all nursing and support staff.
• Demonstrate insight of own behaviour and in others.
• Comply with all aspects of the UAE Code of Conduct, Scope of Practice and licensure as per the regulator.
• Refuse to undertake any task for which you have not been trained and are not competent to undertake.

Clinical Expertise & Development

• Always seek expert help when the demand of care, service or skill falls outside your capabilities.
• Assist in updating clinical policies and guidelines in line with skill and experience.
• Assist, engage with and contribute to the professional development of colleagues.
• Complete and maintain relevant competencies within the specialist field.

Team & Delegation

• Only delegate tasks to those team members who are trained, skilled and competent to undertake such tasks.
• Be willing to work across departments when necessary.

Licensure & Compliance

• Manage your own professional re-licensure in a timely manner.
• Ensure re-licensure is managed in a timely manner.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hold an appropriate license to work as a registered nurse in the relevant regulatory health authority with all qualifications and experience these mandates.
• Hold a valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support Provider card.
• Hold a post-graduate specialist qualification, diploma, degree or masters in the specialty.
• Have previous experience within the specialist field.

Skills & Competencies

• Communicate clearly and effectively in English (spoken and written).
• Communicate effectively in Arabic.
