Key Responsibilities

Professional Development & Leadership

• Develop and maintain a learning culture amongst nurses, particularly in the specialist field in which they work
• Be a role model and always seek to improve the safety and quality of care delivered to patients in the specialist field
• Be a member of the interprofessional team as a subject matter expert in his/her field of specialization
• Support and lead audit and data collection in their area of specialization for KPIs and benchmarking
• Support the nurse educator with training programs and training needs analysis within the specialized field
• Maintain and update technical and clinical skills related to nursing practice

Patient Care & Assessment

• Support patient care, educating patients and the public about various health conditions, and providing advice and emotional support to patients and their family members
• Assess and identify patients' needs and implement and monitor the patient's medical plan and treatment
• Perform systematic patient assessment, re-assessment, and collect pertinent data about the patient's health or situation
• Understand and analyze the assessment information and data
• Determine actual and potential nursing diagnoses, problems, and issues
• Define the predicted and expected outcomes of the patient's planned care
• Create and evaluate patient care plans with the interprofessional team, in collaboration with the patient and patient's bystanders
• Employ strategies to promote patients' health and a safe environment
• Understand different diagnostic tests and laboratory examinations
• Perform essential life support as per regulatory requirements and scope such as but not limited to Basic Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Neonatal Resuscitation
• Assist in medical procedures, invasive or non-invasive as needed
• Support the process of safe patient admission, transfer, and discharge

Laser & Skin Care Treatment

• Conduct competent physical documented assessment using all sources to hand including observation and communication, and prepare appropriate treatment for a patient's skin care needs based on good clinical knowledge, experience, and consultation with a Dermatologist or Physician
• Operate Laser machines competently and with training for the purpose of hair removal as recognized by the certification of the Dermatologists in NMC
• Provide up-to-date and sanctioned knowledge and empathic support for clients who wish to, or those who need to undergo hair removal treatment, including permanent hair reduction, laser skin resurfacing, and vascular lesions with the Dermatologist, and laser tattoo removal
• Provide treatment and care of skin pre- and post-procedure and surgery, including identification of wounds, types and stages of healing, and inform and work with medical practitioners should the case indicate
• Provide treatment and care of facial skin to maintain and improve its appearance, including understanding about the sun and its effect on the skin
• Provide, based on competence, pain relief and stress reduction and anxiety reduction techniques prior to procedures provided by a dermatologist

Documentation

• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of all procedures, including detailed informed consents and patient education regarding equipment and skin care protocols

Qualifications & Experience

• Valid DOH/DHA/MOH/SHA License
• Licensed Healthcare Professional by one of the Authorities as a Registered Nurse, Assistant Nurse, or Beauty Therapist
• Academic qualification as Registered Nurse, Assistant Nurse, or Beauty Therapist
• Hair reduction certification from one of the following bodies if attained from outside UAE: The Society for Clinical and Medical Hair Removal (SCHMR) or National Council on Laser Certification (NCLC) with evidence of ten (10) hands-on training cases
• Valid Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association
• Completed relevant competencies within the specialist field
• 2-3 years' experience within the specialist field
• Advanced education, training, or certification in specialized area of practice

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, spoken and written
• Preference for fluency in communicating in Arabic
