Role Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Landscape Engineer to support the design review, construction supervision, quality assurance, and delivery of landscape and public realm works for major high-rise residential, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, and large-scale urban developments in Madinah, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose
The Landscape Engineer will oversee landscape construction activities, ensure compliance with project specifications and sustainability objectives, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outdoor environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design Review & Documentation
- Review and approve landscape material submittals, plant schedules, shop drawings, samples, and mock-ups.
- Review landscape drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Review contractor method statements, inspection requests, testing records, and quality documentation.
- Review variations, technical queries, and landscape-related change requests.
Construction Supervision
- Supervise landscape construction works for high-rise developments, mixed-use projects, hospitality facilities, and public realm areas.
- Ensure landscape works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project requirements, and Saudi regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify construction quality and compliance with approved standards.
- Monitor plant procurement, delivery, storage, and installation activities.
- Monitor contractor progress and support project schedule management.
Systems & Infrastructure
- Ensure proper implementation of irrigation systems, drainage systems, and water conservation measures.
- Witness testing and commissioning of irrigation systems, pumps, controls, and related infrastructure.
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements during landscape construction activities.
- Verify compliance with sustainability requirements and landscape design objectives.
- Identify and resolve landscape construction issues and provide technical recommendations.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate landscape works with architectural, civil, structural, MEP, and infrastructure disciplines.
- Coordinate with local authorities and stakeholders where required.
- Participate in technical meetings, design coordination workshops, and progress review meetings.
Sustainability & Handover
- Assist in the implementation of sustainable landscape practices, native planting strategies, and water-efficient solutions.
- Support testing, snagging, de-snagging, and handover activities.
Reporting
- Prepare landscape inspection reports, progress reports, and technical assessments.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Landscape Engineering, Landscape Architecture, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Master's Degree in Landscape Architecture, Environmental Design, or a related field is preferred.
- Professional registration with the Saudi Council of Engineers (SCE) is preferred.
- Professional certifications related to landscape design, irrigation systems, or sustainability are advantageous.
- Membership in a recognized professional institution is desirable.
- 10 to 15 years of professional experience in landscape engineering and construction supervision.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on major high-rise, mixed-use, or large-scale urban development projects.
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC countries is highly preferred.
- Experience working with consultants, PMCs, developers, and contractors.
- Demonstrated experience from design review through construction and project handover.
- Knowledge of arid climate landscaping and native plant species suitable for Saudi Arabia is highly desirable.
