Role Overview

Laboratory Technique Specialist at Nahdi in Riyadh. This is an entry-level clinical laboratory role performing routine diagnostic tests across multiple specialties and supporting laboratory operations.

Role Purpose

Perform routine clinical laboratory testing in hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology, and coagulation. Develop basic laboratory skills required for entry-level positions in these and emerging laboratory fields such as molecular diagnostics, while supporting information processing, training, and quality control functions.

Key Responsibilities

Sample Processing & Analysis

• Receive blood and body fluid samples at lab reception and initiate pre-analytical processing.
• Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques and procedures.
• Perform microscopic preparation and examination of urine and stool samples.
• Perform all analytical processes on hematology, biochemistry, serology, and hormone lab machines.

Quality Control & Equipment Management

• Perform daily checks on equipment to ensure safety and correct operability.
• Perform daily quality control tests on reagents.
• Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Conserve laboratory resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

Inventory & Supply Management

• Maintain laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level.
• Anticipate needed supplies and place and expedite orders.
• Verify receipt of supplies.

Reporting & Communication

• Inform medical staff of critical test results.
• Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.

Compliance & Professional Development

• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies and procedures.
• Maintain patient confidence and protect the hospital by keeping information confidential.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Applied Medical Science (Laboratory Section)
• 2 years of practical experience following graduation

• Office software proficiency
• Health Information System proficiency
• English fluency (speaking and writing)
• Arabic fluency (speaking and writing)

Additional Information

• Work environment: 100% indoors
• Schedule: 6 working days per week, 1 day off
• Working hours: 8 net working hours according to shift schedule approved by head of department
