Role Overview
Laboratory Technique Specialist (207620) at Nahdi. This role performs routine clinical laboratory tests across hematology, chemistry, immunohematology, microbiology, immunology, and coagulation, with basic laboratory skills applicable to emerging fields such as molecular diagnostics.
Role Purpose
Deliver accurate clinical laboratory testing and analysis across multiple disciplines while maintaining quality control, equipment safety, and proper sample handling throughout the pre-analytical and analytical phases of laboratory work.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Processing & Analysis
- Receive blood and body fluid samples at lab reception and initiate pre-analytical processing.
- Analyze blood cells by counting and identifying cells using microscopic techniques and procedures.
- Perform microscopic preparation and examination of urine and stool samples.
- Perform all analytical processes on hematology, biochemistry, serology, and hormone lab machines.
Quality Control & Equipment Management
- Perform daily checks on equipment to ensure safety and correct operability.
- Perform daily quality control tests on reagents.
Inventory & Resource Management
- Maintain laboratory supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders, and verifying receipt.
- Conserve laboratory resources by using equipment and supplies efficiently to accomplish job results.
Information & Reporting
- Inform medical staff of critical test results.
- Prepare reports of technological findings by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.
Compliance & Safety
- Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control and hazardous waste policies and procedures.
- Maintain patient confidence and protect the hospital by keeping information confidential.
Professional Development
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and reviewing professional publications.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Applied Medical Science (laboratory section).
- 2 years of practical experience following graduation.
Skills & Competencies
- Office and Health Information System proficiency.
- English and Arabic fluency in speaking and writing.
Additional Information
- Work environment: 100% indoors.
- Schedule: 6 working days per week, 1 day off.
- Working hours: 8 net working hours according to shift schedule approved by head of department.
- The employee's duties are not limited to the accountabilities listed above; the manager may assign other duties based on business need.
