Role Overview
Laboratory Technician (Phlebotomist) at Nahdi, KSA. The role focuses on delivering high-quality, patient-centered phlebotomy services across all age groups and medical conditions while ensuring sample integrity, accurate identification, and timely transportation to the laboratory.
Role Purpose
Perform professional and safe specimen collection services primarily through home collection. The position supports business growth by enhancing patient access and experience through efficient home healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
Specimen Collection
- Perform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures competently for all age groups including neonates, pediatrics, adults, geriatrics, and patients with challenging clinical conditions.
- Conduct home sample collection services in accordance with assigned schedules and operational requirements.
- Ensure correct guest identification, preparation, and post-collection care following established protocols.
Sample Integrity & Handling
- Maintain sample integrity during collection, handling, storage, and transportation to the laboratory.
- Maintain accurate documentation, labeling, and chain of custody for all collected samples.
- Coordinate effectively with laboratory team to ensure timely delivery of specimens.
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and biohazard handling policies during all procedures.
- Report any incidents, complications, or guest concerns to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain confidentiality of guest information at all times.
Patient Care & Experience
- Provide professional, respectful, and guest-centered care during home visits, ensuring a positive experience.
- Support business development initiatives by maintaining high service quality and guest satisfaction.
Equipment & Resources
- Ensure proper use, maintenance, and cleanliness of phlebotomy equipment and supplies.
- Utilize personal transportation for home collection services when required, with compensation provided as per company policy.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Applied Medical Sciences or equivalent.
- Certification in Phlebotomy (preferred).
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience in phlebotomy, preferably including home collection services.
Skills & Competencies
- Office and Health Information System proficiency.
- English and Arabic fluency in speaking and writing.
- Valid driving license.
Additional Information
- Work environment: Outdoors 100% of time as per assigned home collection schedule.
- Working pattern: 6 working days per week with 1 day off.
- Working hours: 8 net working hours according to shift schedule approved by head of department.
- Home collection assignments conducted outside regular working hours are considered overtime and compensated in accordance with company policy.
- Manager may assign additional duties based on business and operational needs.
