Role Purpose
Maintain and repair all kitchen and laundry equipment, refrigeration systems, air-conditioning units, and related plant machinery to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient hotel operations.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
- Maintain kitchen and laundry equipment, chillers, AC units, chilled water systems, pumps, and boilers, including testing and maintenance.
- Repair and maintain refrigeration equipment, chillers, walk-in coolers, freezers, ovens, and related systems.
- Carry out air-conditioning and refrigeration system management and servicing.
- Carry out preventive maintenance (PPM) checks on all systems.
- Respond to equipment and plant emergencies on call.
Compliance & Safety
- Ensure HACCP standards and Health & Safety legislation records are logged and maintained.
- Ensure all Health & Safety records are kept up to date.
- Form part of the Fire Team and assist in any emergencies that may arise.
- Stay aware of changes in regulations and environmental issues.
Contractor & Team Supervision
- Supervise the maintenance team and any external contractors employed by the hotel to carry out maintenance work.
- Be responsible for contractors working on site, including safety induction and maintaining records of all jobs undertaken.
- Oversee the team's and contractors' work to ensure deadlines are met and work is completed to the required standard.
Operations & Logistics
- Supervise the issue of tools relating to the Engineering Department and ensure their safe return.
- Accept deliveries in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Monitor utility readings for the hotel to ensure effective power management.
Sustainability
- Participate in the hotel's energy conservation and sustainability programs.
Training & Development
- Attend all on-the-job training in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
General Duties
- Carry out other work that may reasonably be required and be available as needed.
