Role Overview
Junior Urban Designer at AtkinsRéalis, supporting the planning, design, and delivery of urban development projects in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose
To assist in the preparation, design, and delivery of urban development projects by supporting senior team members in urban design studies, master planning, public realm initiatives, and compliance with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Design Development
- Assist in the preparation of urban design studies, concept plans, master plans, and urban development frameworks.
- Support the development of public realm, streetscape, landscape, and placemaking initiatives.
- Assist in the preparation of design guidelines, planning reports, and technical documentation.
Analysis & Assessment
- Conduct site assessments, urban analysis, land-use studies, and benchmarking exercises.
Visualization & Deliverables
- Produce high-quality urban design drawings, diagrams, presentations, and reports.
Quality & Compliance
- Support senior team members in reviewing design submissions and ensuring compliance with project objectives.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Coordinate with architects, planners, landscape architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Design, Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or a related discipline.
- 1–4 years of professional experience in urban design, planning, architecture, or related fields.
- Master's degree in Urban Design or Urban Planning is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong design, graphic communication, and visualization capabilities.
- Familiarity with urban design principles, public realm design, and placemaking concepts.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience with GIS, Revit, Rhino, Lumion, Enscape, or similar design tools is desirable.
- Strong report-writing, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
