Junior Structural Engineer

Role Overview

Nova International General Contracting is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to support the structural design, review, coordination, and execution of building construction projects in the UAE. You will prepare structural shop drawings, monitor works for compliance, and ensure all activities align with approved designs and local authority regulations.

Role Purpose

To support the structural design and delivery of building construction projects by preparing shop drawings, reviewing technical documentation, monitoring site execution, and ensuring compliance with approved specifications, local authority regulations, and international engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

Structural Design & Documentation

• Prepare reinforcement shop drawings and Bar Bending Schedules (BBS).
• Assist in reviewing structural drawings, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, calculations, and material submittals.

Site Execution & Compliance

• Monitor structural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, UAE regulations, and safety standards.
• Participate in site inspections and help resolve technical issues.

Project Coordination

• Support project execution, consultant submissions, and authority approvals.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in Structural Engineering.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience in structural engineering within contracting companies in the UAE.
• Experience in reinforced concrete and structural steel works.
• Familiarity with UAE construction practices, authority regulations, and project execution.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in structural engineering software such as ETABS, SAFE, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, or similar.
• Proficient in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit is an advantage.
• Good understanding of construction methodologies and site coordination.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment.

Additional Information

• Experience working on residential, commercial, mixed-use, or villa projects is preferred.
• Membership in a recognized engineering institution is an advantage.
• UAE driving license is preferred.
