Jr./Sr. Cold-room and Refrigeration Technician

Role Overview

Burjline Builders is hiring Junior and Senior Cold-room and Refrigeration Technicians in Muscat, Oman to maintain and repair cold rooms, freezer rooms, blast chillers, ice machines, compressors, and commercial refrigeration systems.

Role Purpose

To maintain optimal performance and reliability of refrigeration and cold-storage equipment through preventive maintenance, rapid fault diagnosis, and skilled repairs across mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration systems.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance and Repair

• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on cold-room and refrigeration equipment.
• Maintain and repair walk-in cold rooms and freezer rooms.
• Maintain and repair blast chillers and blast freezers.
• Maintain and repair refrigerated cabinets and table chillers.
• Maintain and repair ice machines.
• Maintain and repair compressors and condensing units.
• Maintain and repair evaporators and condenser coils.
• Maintain and repair refrigeration racks and control panels.

Technical Operations

• Perform refrigerant charging, leak detection, vacuuming, pressure testing, and brazing.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration faults.
• Troubleshoot thermostats, temperature controllers, sensors, expansion valves, solenoid valves, and defrost systems.
• Monitor equipment performance and ensure correct operating temperatures.

Emergency Response and Documentation

• Respond to emergency breakdowns and complete repairs within the required time.
• Record completed work and report recurring equipment faults.

Housekeeping and Compliance

• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.
• Follow safety, hygiene, environmental, and quality procedures.

Component Management

• Replace defective components and identify required spare parts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma, ITI, or trade certificate in Refrigeration, HVAC, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
• Junior level: 2–4 years of relevant experience.
• Senior level: 5 or more years of relevant experience.
• Experience in preventive maintenance, breakdown repair, refrigerant charging, brazing, leak testing, and electrical troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of compressors, evaporators, condensers, defrost systems, temperature controllers, and control panels.
• Senior candidates should have team coordination or supervisory experience.
• Catering, food production, hospitality, cold-storage, or facilities-management experience is preferred.
