Role Overview
Job Performer at Ghobash Group, supporting GCG Engineering Services. This is an electrical maintenance and support role based at project locations in the GCC region, primarily at ADNOC facilities in Abu Dhabi.

Role Purpose
To carry out electrical maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities on electrical systems and equipment in accordance with approved procedures, work instructions, HSE policies, and regulatory requirements. The role ensures safe and compliant operations across industrial plant environments, particularly in Oil & Gas and petrochemical facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repair
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on motors, transformers, switchgear, MCCs, distribution boards, UPS systems, lighting systems, and associated electrical equipment.
- Carry out electrical maintenance, inspection, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities on electrical systems and equipment in accordance with approved procedures and work instructions.
- Diagnose electrical faults and implement corrective actions to restore equipment to service efficiently.
- Conduct inspections and functional tests of electrical installations and equipment to ensure operational reliability and compliance with standards.
Safety & Compliance
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company HSE policies, Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and site regulations.
- Review work permits, job plans, risk assessments, and method statements before commencing activities.
- Isolate, lock out, and tag out electrical equipment as required and verify safe working conditions before starting work.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Technical & Documentation
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Record completed work, test results, and maintenance activities accurately in maintenance management systems and reports.
- Report equipment defects, unsafe conditions, incidents, and maintenance findings to the Supervisor.
Equipment & Resource Management
- Ensure tools, instruments, and testing equipment are maintained, calibrated, and used correctly.
- Verify worksite readiness and ensure required materials, spare parts, and resources are available before starting jobs.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices and keep work areas clean and safe throughout the job execution.
Coordination & Collaboration
- Coordinate with supervisors, planners, operations personnel, and other maintenance disciplines to execute assigned work effectively.
- Assist during plant shutdowns, turnarounds, commissioning, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training programs as required.
Continuous Improvement
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability, safety, and maintenance efficiency.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma, ITI, or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, or Industrial facilities.
- Good knowledge of electrical safety practices, Permit to Work (PTW) systems, and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
- Experience in ADNOC projects is an advantage.
