Role Overview

Job Controller – Automotive at Zayani Motors (Burjline Builders), overseeing workshop operations to ensure high-quality, timely, and profitable vehicle repairs.

Role Purpose

The Job Controller is responsible for overseeing daily workshop operations, leading and mentoring a team of technicians, managing bay utilization and labor efficiency, and enforcing strict compliance with manufacturer warranty, ISO/DOS standards, and Health & Safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Operations & Profitability

• Manage workshop flow, bay utilization, labor efficiency, and overall profitability.
• Analyze and document repeat repairs to eliminate recurring issues.
• Conduct road tests and quality diagnosis checks before vehicle delivery.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives, including 5S and Kaizen activities.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, coach, motivate, and direct workshop staff to achieve daily targets.
• Identify training needs, coordinate developmental plans, and mentor apprentices.
• Maintain ongoing technical expertise through training courses, technical bulletins, and professional development.
• Demonstrate technical expertise and introduce process improvements.

Compliance & Standards

• Ensure strict adherence to ISO, DOS compliance, and Group Internal Audit standards.
• Enforce compliance with manufacturer warranty guidelines and repair procedures.
• Maintain a safe, orderly working environment in line with Health & Safety policies.
• Ensure proper upkeep of workshop equipment, work areas, and protective gear.

Documentation & Reporting

• Accurately complete repair documentation and generate manufacturer technical reports.

Stakeholder & Customer Management

• Partner with the parts department to ensure high parts availability.
• Communicate directly with customers regarding vehicle issues to uphold quality service standards.
• Focus on customer satisfaction by maintaining high output quality and systematically meeting goals.

Leadership Traits

• Take initiative, make quick, tough decisions, and take ownership of projects and people.
• Work productively under pressure, manage stress effectively, and accept constructive feedback.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma degree or any certificate in a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the automotive industry.
• Proven track record of improving operational efficiency and profitability.
• Knowledge of automotive industry trends and developments.
