Role Overview

IT Project Manager - Card and Payment for VAM Systems' Qatar operations. This role requires an experienced IT Project Manager with strong expertise in Cards, Banking Technology, and IT project delivery.

Role Purpose

Support successful delivery of complex IT projects within banking and financial services, with particular focus on card payment systems, ePayments, digital wallets, and related regulatory initiatives. The role demands close coordination across business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, card schemes, compliance teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure delivery within agreed scope, timelines, budget, quality, and governance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

• Lead end-to-end IT project delivery including planning, execution, monitoring, and project closure.
• Manage complex IT projects within banking or financial services environments, particularly across Credit Cards, Debit Cards, Prepaid Cards, ePayments, and scheme-driven initiatives.
• Execute projects within agreed scope, timelines, budget, quality, and governance standards.

Risk, Issues & Change Management

• Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, change requests, and escalations.
• Operate effectively within structured governance environments with strong documentation, reporting, escalation, and change control practices.

Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination

• Coordinate closely with business stakeholders, IT teams, vendors, card schemes, compliance teams, and internal stakeholders.
• Manage vendor relationships and coordination.
• Communicate effectively with senior management, business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners.

Planning & Reporting

• Develop and maintain strong analytical, planning, documentation, and reporting capabilities.
• Apply structured and proactive delivery approaches to problem-solving.

Qualifications & Experience

• 8–10 years of experience in IT Project Management, preferably within banking, financial services, cards, payments, or digital banking environments.
• PMP certification required or strongly preferred.
• Proven experience in managing end-to-end IT project delivery, including planning, execution, monitoring, risk management, stakeholder coordination, vendor management, and project closure.
• Experience working in structured governance environments with strong documentation, reporting, escalation, and change control practices.

Skills & Competencies

• Understanding of tokenization, PCI DSS, ePayments, digital wallets, and payment processing flows.
• Knowledge of card schemes, certifications, mandates, and compliance requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and vendor coordination skills.
• Strong analytical and planning capabilities.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams in banking IT environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a structured and proactive approach.
