IT Engineer - Security Systems

Role Overview

IT Engineer - Security Systems with Transguard Group, Systems Integration - Projects team, based at HQ in DAFZA, Dubai Airport Free Zone.

Role Purpose

Deploy, configure, integrate, and support IT-based security systems including IP CCTV, access control, video management systems, servers, storage, networks, and cybersecurity components. Ensure all security systems operate reliably, securely, and efficiently within client IT infrastructure while protecting systems and networks from threats through firewalls, antivirus, and VPNs.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Implementation

• Develop and deploy security solutions including firewalls, antivirus, VPNs, and security networks.
• Install and configure security systems network hardware.
• Integrate security systems with client IT infrastructure and enterprise applications.

Monitoring & Analysis

• Continuously monitor systems for threats and analyze security logs.
• Research security weaknesses and vulnerabilities.
• Perform site acceptance testing (SAT) and system commissioning.

Incident Response & Compliance

• Investigate security breaches and manage response to cyberattacks.
• Ensure security systems adhere to industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Maintain regulatory certification currency.

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Provide technical support and training for end-users and operators.
• Provide training and guidance to clients and end-users on operation and maintenance of security systems.
• Establish ongoing relationships with clients to ensure satisfaction and address issues or requirements.
• Coordinate with vendors for upgrades and advanced troubleshooting.

Financial Management

• Monitor project budgets on resources and equipment to ensure no overspill.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, efficiency gains, and cost savings on each project.
• Stay updated with latest advancements in security technology and recommend improvements.

Project & Team Leadership

• Manage Project Engineering and installation teams.
• Execute projects while ensuring compliance with technical and safety standards.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality security solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Engineering, Network Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 3–5 years' experience in IT-focused security systems engineering.
• Hands-on experience in deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting VMS, servers, and access control systems.
• Experience working in ELV / security integration projects, preferably in the UAE/GCC.
• In-depth knowledge of security technologies, protocols, and standards including TCP/IP, LDAP, and ONVIF.
• Experience with security systems from major vendors: Genetec, LenelS2, Milestone, Cisco, Allied Telesis.
• Certification in CCNA / CCNP, Microsoft (MCSA/MCSE), or Cybersecurity (CompTIA Security+, CEH) is preferred.
• Industry / Regulatory certifications such as SIRA and MCC are advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
• Security Tools: Firewalls, VPNs.
• Networking: TCP/IP, VLANs, Routing, Switching.
• Operating Systems: Windows, Linux.
• Project management experience and familiarity with project management methodologies is a plus.

Additional Information

• Travel to client sites as needed and work flexible hours to accommodate project schedules.
