Role Overview
IT Engineer for Port and Terminal Infrastructure at Egis Group in Kuwait.

Role Purpose
Design, implement, and maintain critical IT infrastructure systems that support port and terminal operations in a mission-critical, fast-paced environment where reliability and efficiency are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Design & Deployment
- Design, deploy, and maintain IT infrastructure systems supporting port and terminal operations, including servers, networks, and storage solutions
- Manage network architecture, including configuration, maintenance, and upgrades of networking equipment and systems
Performance & Operations
- Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency for all critical infrastructure components
- Conduct regular system audits and performance analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimization
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance system performance and operational capabilities
Troubleshooting & Support
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to port operations systems, including SCADA and industrial control systems
- Provide technical support and guidance to IT staff and end-users on infrastructure-related matters
Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce security protocols and cybersecurity measures to protect critical infrastructure from threats and vulnerabilities
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for port and terminal operations
Collaboration & Documentation
- Collaborate with terminal operations teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Document all infrastructure configurations, procedures, and changes in a clear and organized manner
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 12 years of professional experience in IT infrastructure management and system administration
- Proven experience working with port, terminal, or maritime operations technology systems
- Hands-on experience with SCADA systems and industrial control systems
- Proficiency with virtualization platforms and cloud infrastructure technologies
- Experience with system monitoring and management tools
- Knowledge of database management and backup and disaster recovery solutions
- Preferred: CompTIA Security+, Cisco certifications, or ITIL certifications
- Preferred: Experience with project management and vendor coordination
- Preferred: Familiarity with Gulf region port operations and infrastructure standards
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of network administration, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, and firewall management
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity principles and critical infrastructure protection
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Strong organizational and documentation skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
