IRM eA (Information Risk Management in Audit) is a Specialist wing in KPMG's External Audit service. IRMeA Specialists provide support and assurance to the external audit team and the client that the systems and processes linked to financial reporting are fit for purpose and that controls around technology are operating effectively.

Role Purpose

To provide quality assurance and specialist support on audits, ensuring that systems, processes, and technology controls supporting financial reporting operate effectively and meet client expectations and service level agreements.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance and Review

• Conduct quality assurance on audits.
• Review the quality of work in detail.

Service Delivery

• Deliver the practice objective at the day-to-day level.
• Meet Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and deliverables for all clients as per engagement letter.
• Manage the seamless transition of new projects and clients.
• Control backlogs effectively if any arise.

Process and Change Management

• Plan the implementation of changes to processes effectively.
• Proactively highlight and resolve issues in processes.

Communication and Stakeholder Engagement

• Demonstrate the ability to effectively communicate technical issues to clients, whether internal or external.

Qualifications & Experience

• CISA or CISM certification required.
• Minimum 1–3 years of post-qualification experience required.
• Experience in IT Advisory, IT Audit Support, or Technology Risk Consulting in a Big 4 firm.
• Prior experience in a similar function in a Big 4 in a regulated environment.
• Working experience in a Financial Services institution is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Detailed understanding of core business process cycles in Banking and/or Retail sector.
• Detailed understanding of technology touchpoints in processes and linkages to financial reporting.
• Thorough understanding of General IT Controls, ERPs (SAP or Oracle), Operating Systems, Databases, and ERP Analytics.
• Basic knowledge of Cyber Security, Business Continuity Management, and Emerging Technologies.
• Basic knowledge of Data Analytics.
