Role Overview

IS Design Unit Head at Napco National.

Role Purpose

Lead the information systems design function to deliver integrated technology solutions that support business objectives, ensure system reliability and performance, and enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Business Alignment

• Interpret and apply division business environment, objectives, and internal policies to inform IS strategy.
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into functional specifications.
• Recommend process improvements based on business analysis.
• Provide consultancy on business processes, new information systems, and data analysis to identify client business weaknesses and strengths.
• Assist in decision-making regarding the best approach to reach optimal business and operational throughput.
• Conduct business process engineering and re-engineering consultancy through development of business process architectures, process relationship maps, functional relationship maps, and cross-functional maps.
• Develop and recommend appropriate solution methodologies and integration mechanisms that guarantee optimal client operational practice.

Systems Design & Development

• Develop and customize software through analysis, design, modification, reuse, and re-engineering using best-practice methodologies and tools.
• Design, develop, and implement interfacing solutions with third-party systems, software packages, and tools.
• Identify requirements and design, develop, and implement integration services and ETL solutions.
• Design, develop, and manage reporting and analysis services that support management decision-making.
• Identify reporting needs and design and develop reports.
• Design, develop, and implement data mining and predictive analytics solutions.
• Develop database structures, queries, stored procedures, triggers, and data warehouse solutions.
• Develop data warehouses and implement operational and live data warehouse solutions.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Design, develop, and execute test scenarios, cases, and scripts to ensure information systems meet specifications, are bug-free, and easy to use.
• Conduct auditing and assessments for existing information systems, business processes, and systems functions.
• Identify weaknesses, anomalies' sources, and provide appropriate solutions to existing problems.
• Conduct analytical data readings to determine anomalies or data patterns, identify their sources and business impact, and take appropriate corrective or preventive measures.

Systems Support & Operations

• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot software and systems to check, test, deliver, monitor, and support IS services for end users across divisions and business units through predefined IS support processes.
• Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot system solutions and document according to division standards.
• Design systems with multiple levels of fault tolerance and load balancing capabilities to ensure accessibility in the event of hardware or software component failure.
• Restore systems to a previous acceptable state after natural or human-induced disasters.
• Identify, assess, solve, and avoid business disruptions.
• Ensure continuous operational health of ERP systems.
• Identify regions of code, processes design, and execution that are most frequently performed, and fine-tune application behavior for optimal runtime speed and resource usage.

Project Management

• Define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Direct, implement, and manage projects and project dependencies.

Risk Management & Business Continuity

• Identify, assess, prioritize, and mitigate possible hazards and risks.
• Set control measures to ensure and maintain confidence, minimize business disruption and related impact.
• Ensure business continuity and availability.
• Maximize the realization of potential opportunities.
• Increase the likelihood of achieving strategic goals and objectives.

Vendor & Contract Management

• Identify, screen, select, and manage qualified internal and external service providers in line with organizational needs.
• Manage service contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with third parties.
• Plan negotiation strategy and manage acquisition of appropriate IT goods and services at best possible total value of ownership.
• Meet division needs in terms of strategic impact, quality, quantity, time, and location.

Research & Development

• Conduct and manage research and development for new development tools and techniques.
• Find solutions for development problems.
• Keep up to date with latest practices and tools in use in the development market.

Communication & Reporting

• Communicate and deliver information in business context both verbally and in writing in a clear, concise, and comprehensive manner.
• Monitor, collect, and interpret raw data from various sources.
• Evaluate results and create reports to support decision-making.

Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of national and foreign languages, both spoken and written.
• Ability to organize and plan work and project activities to achieve short- and long-term objectives efficiently.
