Role Overview
Irrigation Inspector - Road and Highways position at AtkinsRéalis. The role is based on a road and infrastructure project where you will monitor and inspect irrigation systems to ensure proper installation, efficient water management, and compliance with design specifications, environmental standards, and safety regulations.

Role Purpose
You will be responsible for inspecting and monitoring irrigation systems within road and infrastructure projects, ensuring they are installed correctly, operate efficiently, comply with all design specifications and regulatory requirements, and are commissioned and handed over successfully.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection & Verification
- Inspect installation of irrigation systems for roadside landscaping and greenery.
- Conduct site inspections to ensure proper alignment, pressure, and water distribution.
- Verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
Compliance & Safety
- Monitor adherence to environmental and safety regulations.
- Identify non-conformities and recommend corrective actions.
Quality Assurance
- Review and validate contractor work, materials, and equipment used in irrigation systems.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handover of irrigation systems.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare inspection reports, checklists, and documentation for project records.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and contractors to resolve technical issues.
- Ensure timely completion of irrigation works in line with project schedules.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma or Degree in Irrigation Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Proven experience in irrigation inspection within road and infrastructure projects.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of irrigation systems, hydraulics, and water distribution technologies.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and irrigation design software.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Knowledge of sustainable water management practices.
- Familiarity with testing and commissioning procedures.
- Effective time management to handle multiple inspections and deadlines.
