Role Overview
Internal Medicine Registrar at Nahdi in Khamis Mushait. The role is to diagnose and treat injuries or illnesses, examine patients, take medical histories, prescribe medications, and order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
Role Purpose
To provide clinical care for patients with acute and chronic internal medicine conditions, manage their treatment plans, and contribute to the continuous improvement and education standards of Nahdi Care Clinics.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Assessment & Diagnosis
- Assess patients and document findings.
- Examine patients and take medical histories.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Review results of patients' investigations.
Treatment & Management
- Design and execute the patient's plan of care.
- Prescribe medications for patients.
- Counsel patients on diet, hygiene, and preventive healthcare as related to their individual cases.
Patient Education
- Educate patients on their health condition, investigations required, treatment options and medication use.
- Educate patients on health promotion and disease prevention.
- Integrate the population factors of heritage, environment, and disease prevalence into a patient's care.
Compliance & Governance
- Fulfill obligations related to Patient Records.
- Adhere to all Nahdi Care Clinics Policies and Procedures, Bylaws, Strategic Plan, Rules and Regulations.
- Adhere to the mission, vision, goals and practice guidelines in Nahdi Care Clinics.
- Adhere to the CBAHI standards of care.
- Comply with clinical and departmental structure standards, including attendance.
- Complete fire safety requirements.
- Perform additional tasks based on specialty and clinical privileges as defined by training, experience, skills and Saudi health council guidelines.
Collaboration & Relationships
- Establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with other departments of Nahdi Care Clinics, local agencies, vendors, patients, their families and other interested parties.
Professional Development & Quality
- Actively participate in all Nahdi Care Clinics Committees and Task Forces to which assigned.
- Participate in continuous quality improvement and program evaluation activities to ensure Clinical, MOH and CBAHI quality Standards and Regulations are met.
- Participate in continuous professional development of all junior staff.
- Develop, participate in and support an active Continuing Medical Education program for the Section, Department or Clinical assigned by the chairman, which may include rounds, conferences, lectures, journal clubs and other educational activities.
- Demonstrate evidence-based practice orientation.
Additional Duties
- Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned by management based on business need.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Medicine and Surgery from recognized universities.
- Master's degree in related specialty from recognized universities OR Fellowship with SCFHS approval.
- 2 years of clinical experience following Master's degree OR eligibility to sit the board examination in the specialty.
- Licensed as Registrar in related specialty from Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
Skills & Competencies
- Office and Health Information Systems.
- English and Arabic, fluent speaking and writing.
Additional Information
- Work Environment: 100% indoors.
- Working Schedule: 6 working days per week with 1 day off.
- Working Hours: 8 net working hours according to shift schedule approved by head of department.
