Role Overview
Intern position at Apparel Group. The role is responsible for representing the brand by maximizing and contributing to sales within the store through exceptional customer service and retail experience.
Role Purpose
Perform customer service and operational duties to drive sales and maintain store standards. Deliver exceptional retail experiences while supporting store management through visual merchandising, inventory management, and point-of-sale operations.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
- Greet customers and assist them in selecting the right product.
- Convert window shoppers to ultimate buyers.
- Promote the Club Apparel Loyalty Program for repeat sales.
- Serve customers with the highest standards following the company guideline of selling (GUEST – Greet, Understand, Explain, Sell, Thank).
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge across various brands within the group for suggestive selling.
Merchandise & Visual Merchandising
- Ensure all stock is laid out and displayed to attract customers and in accordance with standard layout norms.
- Ensure all VM guidelines are followed and all stock norms on clearance are maintained.
- Record inventory inward and outward and maintain reports of the same.
- Ensure minimal stock loss through vigilant inventory management.
Operations & Point of Sale
- Handle the POS (Point of Sale) and billing counter efficiently.
- Tally money in the cash till during the beginning and end of shifts.
- Issue receipts, refunds, and change to customers correctly.
- Process payments by cash, credit cards, vouchers, and automatic debits.
- Adhere to SOP and Loss Prevention Policies.
- Maintain confidentiality of sales figures to outside parties.
Store Maintenance & Security
- Perform various operational duties such as store maintenance and visual presentation standards as assigned by the store manager or assistant store manager.
- Ensure awareness and vigilance at all times of security in the store without any negligence.
Flexibility & Availability
- Be flexible to work for extended hours during the sale period.
- Be flexible to work for varied shifts and overtime as per business requirement.
Grooming & Attitude
- Be presentable and well-groomed at all times.
Skills & Competencies
- Product knowledge across multiple brands.
- Point of Sale (POS) system operation.
- Customer service and sales ability.
- Cash handling and reconciliation.
- Visual merchandising understanding.
- Inventory management.
