Inspector - FZ Inspection

Role Overview

Inspector - FZ Inspection at AD Ports Group. This role supervises and provides oversight of planned and unplanned inspections of Free Zone companies conducting marine activities, working in liaison with outsourced inspection teams to regulate safe operations.

Role Purpose

Oversee compliance and safety across Free Zone operations by conducting systematic inspections of companies, facilities, and personnel; ensuring adherence to Free Zone Rules, Regulations, HSE standards, and GCC Customs law; and taking corrective action where violations occur.

Key Responsibilities

Inspections & Monitoring

• Conduct off-site inspections of companies based on Risk Based Approach methodology.
• Conduct on-site inspections of warehouses, offices, industrial units and other facilities on a periodic basis.
• Report facility modifications and Health, Safety and Environment violations.
• Inspect and ensure all companies store only permitted materials in facilities, and that hazardous, harmful or prohibited materials are not stored, in line with GCC Customs common law.
• Conduct employee inspections to ensure all employees operating in the facility are sponsored by Abu Dhabi Free Zone and hold valid ID card or access card.
• Maintain a report on Free Zone companies and actual number of employees.

Licensing & Legal Compliance

• Ensure all companies operating in the Zone have valid business license.
• Ensure all legal persons carry out activities in accordance with their permitted business activity license.
• Ensure facilities are not utilized for offensive trade, residential activities, or illegal activities.
• Ensure there are no unlicensed or non-registered establishments within the same location or facility in the zone.
• Ensure all companies maintain registers for Beneficial Owner, Shareholders, and minutes of meetings.

Health, Safety & Insurance

• Ensure all companies adhere to safety and storage of goods in line with Health, Safety and Environment and competent authority guidelines.
• Ensure all industrial and storage units have valid Workmen Compensation Insurance, Fire and Peril Insurance, Third Party Liability Insurance, and Employee Health Insurance.
• Ensure all companies adhere to Health, Safety and Environment Regulations and are certified by Abu Dhabi Civil Defense.

Employee & Compensation Oversight

• Verify the employer settles the employee's salaries and other benefits in line with the Employment contract.

Inventory & Materials Management

• Ensure all companies maintain Inventory system for incoming and outgoing goods.

Reporting & Enforcement

• Maintain report for Inspection outcome and impose administrative penalties as applicable.
• Follow-up on non-compliance issues.
• Perform any other duties assigned by Management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
• 3 or more years of experience in a Free Zone.
• Full command and knowledge of Free Zone Rules and Regulations.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent written and communication skills.
• Fluent in Arabic and English.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to resolve conflicts.
