Role Overview
Inspector (Electrical) with Egis Group in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role focuses on ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of electrical installations across infrastructure projects.

Role Purpose
The Electrical Inspector will inspect and monitor electrical works on site to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable codes and standards, and project quality requirements. The role supports the project team in maintaining construction quality, identifying deficiencies, ensuring timely resolution of electrical issues, and guaranteeing the quality and compliance of electrical installations.
Key Responsibilities
Inspections & Compliance
- Conduct thorough inspections of electrical systems, installations, and equipment to ensure compliance with contract documents, specifications, and relevant building codes.
- Conduct daily inspections of electrical systems including MV/LV power distribution, MV substations and associated infrastructure, wiring, conduits, panels, lighting, and power systems.
- Monitor installation of street lighting, Apron floodlighting, GPUs, and AGL infrastructure.
- Oversee testing, commissioning, and energization of electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and safety.
- Verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and equipment installations to confirm adherence to project specifications.
- Monitor and verify installation methods, workmanship, and Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Occupational Health Policies, Manuals, and Procedures compliance.
Documentation & Records
- Conduct a review of work pack documentation and validate test data as meeting specified requirements and/or within tolerance.
- Review contractor shop drawings and submittals to confirm alignment with project specifications.
- Review and verify method statements, inspection and test plans (ITPs).
- Maintain detailed inspection reports, logs, and records for quality assurance and compliance tracking.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspections and progress reports on site.
- Identify and document electrical deficiencies, code violations, and potential safety hazards.
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of all inspections and findings.
Quality Assurance & Non-Conformance
- Raise non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution.
- Conduct regular surveillance of site work against documented processes.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Participate in site coordination and progress meetings with contractors and stakeholders to resolve technical issues on-site.
- Collaborate with other inspectors to resolve electrical system integration issues.
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and project managers to resolve electrical issues and ensure timely project completion.
- Participate in pre-construction meetings to discuss electrical requirements and potential challenges.
- Provide expert guidance and recommendations to improve electrical safety and efficiency on project sites.
Compliance & Standards
- Stay updated on local and international electrical codes and regulations.
- Stay up to date with changes in Saudi Arabian and international electrical codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
General
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager/supervisor.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in electrical inspection, preferably in infrastructure and hanger projects.
- Proven experience in electrical-related projects and construction supervision with Consultancy Engineering Company.
- Prior experience working with a Project Management Consultant (PMC) is highly desirable.
- Proven experience working on construction sites and aviation projects.
- Aviation experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of Saudi electrical codes, SEC standards, and international regulations.
- Good understanding of electrical systems used in infrastructure projects (e.g., street lighting, utility networks, cabling, MV/LV substations, AGL, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of structured cabling, networking, and integrated systems.
- Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Expertise in using various testing equipment and inspection tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and reporting skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant inspection software.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a strong commitment to safety and quality.
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry regulations and safety standards.
