Role Overview

Inplant Principal Piping Layout Engineering Design (SME) at Wood PLC, serving as Technical Authority across the portfolio of energy, oil & gas, mining, industrial and infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Lead 3D plant layout and piping arrangement for complex industrial facilities, providing technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle including proposals, concept studies, FEED, detailed engineering, construction support and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Authority

• Act as the Technical Authority across multiple projects.
• Serve as the highest level of technical authority within the piping layout discipline.
• Resolve complex engineering challenges and provide specialist guidance.
• Perform independent design assurance and peer reviews.

Project Delivery

• Lead technical reviews during Concept, FEED and Detailed Design phases.
• Support proposals, client workshops and business development activities.
• Ensure engineering excellence and strengthen technical governance.
• Support the delivery of safe, innovative and high-quality engineering solutions.

Standards & Capability Development

• Develop and maintain engineering standards and best practices.
• Establish and maintain technical standards across projects.
• Mentor engineers and develop technical capability within engineering teams.

Stakeholder Management

• Build trusted relationships with clients and key stakeholders across the region.
• Contribute to technical assurance activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline.
• Minimum 20 years of experience in Oil & Gas, Energy, Petrochemical, Mining or Industrial projects.
• Proven experience as a Technical Authority, Chief Engineer, Principal Consultant, Engineering Fellow or equivalent.
• Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer status is preferred.
