Role Purpose

Protect the university's information systems and data against cyber threats through monitoring, implementation, and management of security controls and incident response.

Key Responsibilities

Monitoring & Threat Detection

• Monitor university networks and systems for security threats and vulnerabilities
• Implement and maintain security controls, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans

Incident Response & Remediation

• Respond to security incidents and coordinate remediation efforts

Policy & Governance

• Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures
• Ensure compliance with data protection and privacy regulations

Awareness & Professional Development

• Provide security awareness training to staff and students
• Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats and best practices

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field
• 4+ years of experience in information security or IT security roles
• Relevant certifications (CISSP, CEH, or similar) preferred

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of network security, firewalls, and threat detection tools
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Fluency in English required
