Role Overview
Infant & Pediatric Nutritionist at Taiba Hospital, reporting to the Children's Health Integrated Care Center. Job Code: CH-001, Grade: A3, Level: N-3.
Role Purpose
Deliver specialized nutrition assessment, planning, and counseling for infants, toddlers, and children to achieve optimal growth and development. Integrate evidence-based feeding strategies across clinical teams and educate families to support long-term nutritional health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Diagnosis
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for infants, toddlers, and children using growth charts, dietary histories, and medical records.
- Track growth metrics and lab results to inform ongoing clinical decisions.
Care Planning & Intervention
- Develop individualized, age- and condition-specific feeding plans including breastfeeding support, formula guidance, introduction of solids, allergy management, and therapeutic diets.
- Monitor outcomes and adjust plans to ensure optimal development based on caregiver feedback and clinical response.
Family & Caregiver Counseling
- Lead one-on-one and group counseling sessions on feeding techniques, portion sizes, nutrient requirements, and troubleshooting common challenges.
- Educate families on infant feeding best practices, managing picky eaters, and adolescent nutrition.
Clinical Collaboration
- Partner with neonatologists, pediatricians, nurses, and therapists to integrate nutrition into each child's care pathway.
Education & Outreach
- Design and facilitate at least 4 group education workshops per quarter.
- Develop and maintain up-to-date educational materials and growth-monitoring tools.
Documentation & Systems
- Maintain accurate records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Ensure timeliness of follow-up consultations, with more than 90% completed on schedule.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Nutrition & Dietetics.
- Registered Dietitian credential required.
- 5+ years' experience in pediatric or neonatal nutrition, preferably in a clinical or hospital setting.
- Deep knowledge of WHO growth standards, therapeutic feeding protocols, and pediatric nutrient needs.
