Role Overview

Individual Learning Support Assistant (iLSA), German International School Dubai. Full-time position, 5 days per week, start as soon as possible.

Role Purpose

Provide one-to-one learning support and behavioral guidance to an individual student throughout the school day, implementing inclusive strategies and facilitating safe, positive participation in classroom, transition, and social settings.

Key Responsibilities

Student Support & Classroom Assistance

• Provide close accompaniment of the student during lessons, transitions, and break times.
• Support implementation of behavioral and self-regulation strategies.
• Foster socially appropriate behavior and positive interactions.
• Structure learning and work situations within classroom settings.

Break & Transition Support

• Lead active supervision during breaks to ensure a safe and successful school day.

Inclusion Planning & Implementation

• Implement measures from the student's Individual Education Plan (IEP) in collaboration with the Inclusion Team.
• Document relevant observations.

Collaboration & Communication

• Coordinate closely with classroom teachers, special education teachers, and school psychology staff.
• Participate in team meetings as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience working with children requiring support, ideally in behavioral or social-emotional needs (SEMH).
• German as native language and good English language skills.
• Valid UAE visa already in place (required).

• Prior experience as an iLSA.

Contract & Employment Terms

• Full-time position.
• 5 days per week.
• Support throughout the entire school day (lessons, breaks, transitions).
• Employment is formally arranged between the parents of the supported child and the learning support assistant. All contractual terms, including working hours, duties, and compensation, are agreed directly between parents and assistant. The school is not a party to the contract and assumes no legal responsibility.
