Role Overview
Import Specialist for IKEA Oman, a division of Al Futtaim, based in Oman. This role oversees logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring efficient inventory management and seamless integration of retail processes.

Role Purpose
Oversee import logistics and supply chain operations for IKEA Oman, managing customs procedures, freight coordination, and inventory accuracy while optimizing warehouse operations and minimizing costs.
Key Responsibilities
Import & Logistics Operations
- Oversee incoming shipments via sea and road freight, verifying compliance with supply chain protocols and documentation requirements.
- Track and coordinate import/export operations across article ranges and tariff classifications to maintain accurate inventory records.
Customs & Compliance
- Manage customs procedures and maintain relationships with local authorities to ensure timely product clearances.
- Negotiate optimal duty rates with relevant authorities.
Warehouse & Cost Optimization
- Optimize warehouse operations and logistics coordination to balance supply and demand while minimizing operational costs.
- Ensure consistent product availability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven experience in import/export operations or customs management, preferably in a retail or FMCG environment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Omani customs regulations, documentation procedures, and logistics processes.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple shipments and maintain detailed records.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities to collaborate with customs, logistics providers, and internal teams.
