Role Overview
ILI Field Specialist (In-line Inspection) with Baker Hughes Process & Pipeline Services. This role is based at client locations and company facilities, supporting pipeline integrity and mechanical cleaning projects across the oil and gas, power generation, metals and mining sectors.

Role Purpose
As a field specialist, you will assist with all phases of pipeline integrity and mechanical cleaning projects, including pre-job, on-site, and post-job responsibilities. You will operate mechanical cleaning decoking trucks and electronic equipment such as geophones, receivers, transmitters, laptops with tracking software, line finders, and survey tools. When not engaged in project work, you will maintain equipment, perform housekeeping, and deliver training while adhering strictly to company policies, procedures, and HSE standards.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Job Planning
- Develop project scope with the team and client.
- Conduct equipment checks and verification.
- Establish client contact and confirm logistics.
- Arrange travel and accommodation.
- Pack and prepare materials.
- Coordinate crew and dispatch work orders.
On-Site Operations
- Manage personnel and conduct safety meetings.
- Prepare project reports and documentation.
- Maintain and monitor equipment throughout operations.
- Perform pig launching and real-time tracking.
- Conduct line locating and survey operations.
- Deploy AGM systems as required.
- Execute pipeline cleaning activities.
- Supervise overall project execution.
Post-Job Closure
- Perform equipment maintenance and cleaning.
- Pack, unpack, and repack materials.
- Complete post-job reporting and documentation.
- Execute demobilization activities.
- Document time and expense records.
Equipment Management
- Assist with equipment setup, repair, and cleaning.
- Perform rigging down and repacking operations.
- Maintain equipment in operational condition.
- Support equipment troubleshooting.
Health, Safety & Environment
- Participate in safety meetings and toolbox talks.
- Identify and report hazards immediately.
- Follow all HSE policies and procedures.
- Support safety audits and inspections.
- Promote safety training and awareness campaigns.
- Manage environmental protection and debris removal.
General Upkeep
- Maintain housekeeping standards at base and job sites.
- Manage debris and waste removal.
- Support training of junior staff in technical and administrative skills.
Stakeholder Representation
- Travel to remote sites on short notice.
- Support company projects and initiatives.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively with clients.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in in-line inspection (ILI).
- Technical training in electronics, welding, or ultrasonics preferred.
- Eligible to work in Saudi Arabia without sponsorship.
- Prior experience in decoking, ultrasonic testing (UT), or in-line inspection (ILI) highly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong hands-on skills with ability to recognize and diagnose problems.
- Proficiency with laptops, Excel, and GPS/mapping software.
- Capable of email dispatch and data tracking.
- Fluent in English for phone, text, and email communication.
- Reasonable math skills for operational calculations.
- Line locating and pigging equipment operation.
- GPS navigation and AGM systems knowledge.
- In-line inspection (ILI) expertise.
- Detail-oriented with strong multitasking ability.
- Team-focused, courteous, and respectful communication style.
- Valid driver's license and ability to rent vehicles.
- Good hearing and vision for operating acoustic and visual equipment.
- Ability to walk long distances, work outdoors, and stand for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs regularly.
