ID Draftsman

Role Overview

ID Draftsman at Al Shirawi Group. This role prepares detailed shop drawings for interior fit-out works in accordance with project requirements, consultant comments, and company standards.

Role Purpose

Prepare accurate and timely technical drawings for interior fit-out projects, coordinating with multiple disciplines to resolve technical issues and ensure all deliverables comply with project specifications, consultant requirements, and authority regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Drawing Preparation

• Prepare detailed interior fit-out shop drawings using AutoCAD.
• Prepare layout plans, reflected ceiling plans, flooring layouts, elevations, sections, enlarged details, and construction details.
• Prepare coordinated builder's work drawings and as-built drawings.
• Carry out main drawings based on specifications provided by the Manager Projects.

Design Coordination & Review

• Incorporate consultant review comments and revise drawings accordingly.
• Coordinate with the Senior Technical Manager, Technical Coordinator, Project Managers, MEP team, site engineers, consultants, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Coordinate with the joinery drafting team to ensure interface details are fully coordinated.
• Verify site dimensions and as-built conditions before preparing shop drawings.
• Review site details with Engineers, Manager-Projects, and Architect.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, consultant requirements, design intent, and authority regulations.
• Maintain drawing revisions and ensure all issued drawings are properly documented.
• Assist in preparing drawing registers, submission packages, and technical documentation.
• Update drawing registers regularly.
• Record all drawing distribution in drawing control register.

Project Delivery

• Complete assigned drawings within the planned submission programme while maintaining quality standards.
• Plan and issue drawings as per requirement of Architect.
• Send drawings to client for approval.
• Attend technical coordination and project meetings as required.

Administrative Support

• Refer to and understand the scope of work of projects.
• Provide related project details to sales department based on customer-supplied drawings and details measured for the site.

Skills & Competencies

• AutoCAD (mandatory)
• Microsoft Office Suite
• Revit (preferred)
• Good knowledge of interior fit-out detailing and construction methodology
• Good understanding of ID architectural and MEP coordination
• Familiarity with authority requirements and consultant submission standards

Qualifications & Experience

• Experience as an ID Draftsman or equivalent interior design drafting background
