Role Overview
I&C Engineer – Rotational Support / Remote position with Wood PLC in Sharjah, UAE. This is a full-time role providing day-to-day Instrument & Control Engineering support for site operations.

Role Purpose
Provide immediate day-to-day I&C Engineering support to site operations, working closely with the site-based team under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager. Resolve operational queries and activities, understand and mitigate I&C risks, and progress longer-term engineering solutions to reduce risk and grow production while ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant operations.
Key Responsibilities
Operations Support
- Perform day-to-day I&C Engineering support to deliver immediate operations support.
- Resolve site operations related queries and activities.
- Work closely with the site team to address issues under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager.
Risk Management & Assessment
- Ensure that asset I&C Engineering risks are understood and appropriately risk assessed.
- Drive risk reduction actions within agreed timeframes.
- Collaborate with site-based team to progress identified longer-term engineering solutions to reduce risk.
Equipment & Performance Monitoring
- Define I&C Engineering operating envelopes.
- Monitor health of static I&C Engineering equipment using operating envelopes.
- Record and investigate excursions outside operating envelopes.
- Monitor I&C Engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiate corrective action as necessary.
Technical Support & Documentation
- Provide I&C Engineering support to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
- Write, review, and recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
- Generate, revise, and review discipline Technical Documentation.
Coaching & Development
- Provide I&C Engineering coaching to Client engineers.
Production Optimization
- Identify production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and growth.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Engineering or related discipline and/or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
- Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.
- Significant experience in an Operations I&C Engineering support role.
- Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of relevant industry codes, standards, and regulations.
- Ability to initiate guidance on appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control, and mitigate risks.
- Sound stakeholder management experience.
