I&C Engineer - Operations and Maintenance

Role Overview

Wood PLC is recruiting an I&C Engineer – Operations and Maintenance to join its UAE business unit in Sharjah. This is a full-time position providing day-to-day instrumentation and control engineering support for site operations.

Role Purpose

Provide day-to-day I&C engineering support for site operations related queries, activities and risks to ensure safe, reliable and compliant operations. Collaborate with the site-based team to progress identified longer-term engineering solutions to appropriate teams, reducing risk and supporting production growth.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Support

• Perform day-to-day I&C engineering support to deliver immediate operations support, working closely with the site team to resolve issues under the direction of the Operations Engineering Manager.
• Provide I&C engineering coaching to Client engineers.

Risk Management and Monitoring

• Ensure that asset I&C engineering risks are understood, appropriately risk assessed, and actions driven to reduce risk within agreed timeframes.
• Define I&C engineering operating envelopes and monitor health of static I&C engineering equipment using operating envelopes.
• Record and investigate excursions outside operating envelopes.
• Monitor I&C engineering Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and initiate corrective action as necessary.

Engineering Support and Documentation

• Provide I&C engineering support to technical Management of Change (MoCs) and Engineering Queries (EQs).
• Write, review and recommend technical input into Site Operations Procedures (SOPs).
• Generate, revise and review discipline Technical Documentation.

Production Optimization

• Identify production vulnerabilities and optimization opportunities to support production forecast and growth.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree in Engineering or related discipline and/or equivalent relevant professional qualification.
• Professional accreditation – Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer.
• Significant experience in an Operations I&C Engineering support role.
• Advanced technical knowledge and experience in engineering, with sound knowledge of the relevant industry codes, standards and regulations, and the ability to initiate guidance on the appropriate designs and systems to prevent, control and mitigate risks.
• Sound stakeholder management experience.
