Role Overview

IB - Corporate Finance MENA Coverage - Analyst at Deutsche Bank. This front office, client-centric role is based in the MENA region and provides exposure to a leading Corporate Finance franchise encompassing both advisory and capital markets work in debt and equity.

Role Purpose

To support the Corporate Finance team in delivering advisory and capital markets solutions to clients across the Middle East and North Africa and globally, while gaining comprehensive experience in investment banking execution, analysis and origination.

Key Responsibilities

Advisory & Transaction Execution

• Work on a variety of complex projects for clients situated across the Middle East and North Africa and globally.
• Support senior bankers in origination and coverage efforts.
• Participate in execution of live transactions and pitches.
• Evaluate companies and conduct financial analysis for M&A and capital markets transactions.
• Develop financial models for M&A and capital markets transactions.
• Prepare industry analyses for pitches.
• Conduct research to support advisory work.
• Contribute ideas to help clients achieve their strategic and financial objectives.

Project & Stakeholder Management

• Manage projects and timelines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Attend team discussions and client meetings.
• Deliver parts of presentations to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Interact with various sector and product teams across the bank, both onshore and offshore.
• Engage in regional networking and Talent Development offerings.
• Contribute positively to franchise building activities.

Analysis & Documentation

• Provide accurate calculations and analysis.
• Draft documentation, discussion materials and pitchbooks.
• Prepare comprehensive financial analysis and valuations.

Compliance & Administration

• Fulfill and keep up to date with various compliance and DFSA license requirements.
• Support the team with administrative tasks.

Qualifications & Experience

• Maximum 12 months of prior experience in corporate finance, investment banking and related fields.
• Demonstrable track record of seeking out M&A, advisory or capital markets experience through university societies, vacation projects, internships or similar.
• Postgraduate degree a prerequisite (minimum Honours level).
• Academic focus on business or the natural sciences, particularly finance, accounting, investment management, business administration, economics, mathematics or engineering.
• Excellent academic record.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical skills including financial modelling, financial analysis and understanding of valuation methodologies.
• Strong proficiency with financial analytics software and Microsoft suite of products.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent in English.
• Excellent analytical skills.
• Commercial instinct and demonstrable passion for finance and capital markets with an affinity for numbers.
• Results-driven; ability to perform well under pressure and against tight deadlines.
• Team player with ability to manage a wide range of responsibilities and contribute to franchise success.
