Role Purpose

Lead and supervise HVAC subcontractors and construction teams to execute construction effectively and safely in accordance with project specifications, while managing quality, progress, budgets, and all discipline-specific HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems work.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Safety

• Supervise and ensure safe conditions at construction sites in cooperation with the safety department.
• Be responsible for timely issuance of PTW (Permit to Work) and direct and supervise subcontractor construction teams to ensure adherence to PTW conditions.
• Promote near miss and unsafe acts identification programs.
• Promote and enforce safe working conditions across all construction activities.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Supervise and ensure construction quality in accordance with project specifications and ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
• Conduct quality control inspections and ensure all work meets company standards.
• Attend various walkthroughs including SMC (System Mechanical Completion), STC (System Test Certificate), and PSSR (Pre/Post Startup Safety Review) with company representatives.
• Ensure and follow up on completion and clearance of all punch items related to SMC, STC, and PSSR walkthroughs.
• Familiarize with construction drawings, specifications, and inspection and test plans (ITPs).

Planning & Coordination

• Ensure necessary construction drawings and materials are available in advance of construction implementation.
• Assign work front areas to other Supervisors based on skills and experience of team members.
• Coordinate with other disciplines or departments to resolve interface issues.
• Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction.

Progress & Budget Management

• Manage construction progress and productivity by checking daily, weekly, and monthly work completed quantities.
• Monitor project budgets and ensure all work is completed within budget constraints.
• Supervise records of all photos, emails, and evidence of delays, lack of resources, or schedule failures to be reported to subcontract engineer/manager.

Reporting & Communication

• Communicate with senior management to provide updates and address any concerns.
• Review timesheets of rental manpower and machinery equipment.

HVAC Discipline-Specific Work

• Execute troubleshooting of HVAC units.
• Oversee HVAC equipment and HVAC duct installation.
• Manage HCP control cable pulling, termination, and IR testing.
• Manage HVAC equipment startup and commissioning.
• Execute Testing, Adjusting, and Air Balancing (TAB).
• Oversee plumbing fixture and plumbing equipment installation.
• Oversee plumbing UG and AG PVC, CPVC, and HDPE pipe installation.
• Execute hydro testing of PW and UW water pipes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in a related engineering major.
• 10+ years of experience in civil supervision.
• Significant knowledge of project specifications and standards, and medium to large-sized project experience.
• Experience in oil/gas/petrochemical or power plants as a supervisor.
• Engineering and Construction Company working experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HVAC engineering principles and construction techniques, including troubleshooting of HVAC units, HVAC equipment and duct installation, HCP control cable pulling and termination, HVAC equipment startup and commissioning, Testing Adjusting Air Balancing (TAB), plumbing fixture and equipment installation, and plumbing UG and AG PVC, CPVC, and HDPE pipe installation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction management and engineering standards.
• Ability to manage project budgets, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of construction projects.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and ability to ensure safe conditions at construction sites.
• Ability to identify and resolve construction issues and conflicts.
• Familiarity with subcontractor management and construction scheduling.
• Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for HVAC engineering and construction project management.
• Computer application ability including MS Office.
• Strong leadership skills and ability to provide mentorship and guidance to lower-level supervisors.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to effectively communicate with senior management, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make decisions in a timely and effective manner.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure all work meets company standards.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
