Role Purpose

To supervise and manage HVAC construction teams and subcontractors to deliver high-quality, safe, on-time and on-budget project execution in accordance with specifications, standards and inspection plans.

Key Responsibilities

Safety & Site Management

• Supervise and ensure safe conditions at construction sites in cooperation with the safety department.
• Promote near miss and unsafe acts identification programs.
• Ensure timely issuance of PTW and supervise subcontractor construction teams to maintain adherence to PTW conditions.

Construction Quality & Compliance

• Supervise and ensure construction quality in accordance with project specifications and ITP (Inspection and Test Plan).
• Conduct quality control inspections and ensure all work meets company standards.
• Ensure and follow up completion and clearance of all punch items related to SMC, STC and PSSR walk downs.
• Attend various walk downs including SMC (System Mechanical Completion), STC (System Test Certificate) and PSSR (Pre/Post Startup Safety Review) along with the company.

Planning & Preparation

• Ensure necessary construction drawings and materials are available in advance of construction implementation.
• Assign work front areas to other supervisors based on team member skills and experience.

Progress & Budget Management

• Manage construction progress and productivity by checking daily, weekly and monthly work done quantities.
• Monitor project budgets and ensure all work is completed within budget constraints.
• Review timesheets of rental manpower and machinery equipment.

Stakeholder Communication & Coordination

• Communicate with senior management to provide updates and address any concerns.
• Coordinate with other disciplines or departments to resolve interface issues.
• Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise during construction.
• Supervise records of all photos, emails and evidence of delays, lack of resources and schedule failures to be informed to subcontract engineers or managers.

HVAC-Specific Operations

• Conduct troubleshooting of HVAC units.
• Supervise HVAC equipment and HVAC duct installation.
• Oversee HCP control cable pulling, termination and IR testing.
• Manage HVAC equipment startup and commissioning.
• Oversee Testing Adjusting Air Balancing (TAB).
• Supervise plumbing fixture and plumbing equipment installation.
• Supervise plumbing UG and AG PVC, CPVC and HDPE pipes installation.
• Oversee hydro testing of PW and UW water pipes.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in related engineering major.
• 10+ years of experience in civil supervision.
• Significant knowledge of project specifications and standards, and medium to large-sized project experience.
• Experience in oil, gas, petrochemical or power plants as a supervisor.
• Engineering and Construction Company working experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of HVAC engineering principles and construction techniques, particularly in troubleshooting of HVAC units, HVAC equipment and duct installation, HCP control cable pulling and termination, HVAC equipment startup and commissioning, Testing Adjusting Air Balancing (TAB), plumbing fixture and equipment installation, and plumbing UG and AG PVC, CPVC and HDPE pipes installation.
• Comprehensive knowledge of construction management and engineering standards.
• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications and inspection and test plans (ITPs).
• Ability to manage project budgets, monitor progress and ensure timely completion of construction projects.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to ensure safe conditions at construction sites.
• Ability to identify and resolve construction issues and conflicts.
• Familiarity with subcontractor management and construction scheduling.
• Proficiency in conducting quality control inspections and ensuring adherence to company standards.
• Proficiency in relevant software and tools for HVAC engineering and construction project management.
• Computer application ability with MS Office.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to provide mentorship and guidance to lower-level supervisors.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate with senior management, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a timely and effective manner.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure all work meets company standards.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
