Role Overview

HSE Supervisor at Cummins Arabia. The role is based at the company's site(s) in Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Actively promote health, safety and environmental awareness and apply technical knowledge in the design, implementation and management of health, safety and environmental engineering controls within the site(s). Provide support cross-functionally to ensure compliance with Cummins internal requirements, applicable health, safety and environmental regulations and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

Hazard Identification and Assessment

• Anticipate, identify and evaluate hazardous conditions and practices.
• Develop basic hazard control designs, methods, procedures and programs.
• Administer and communicate hazard control programs.

Compliance and Standards

• Interpret and apply internal and external standards in support of hazard reduction and compliance.
• Support HSE compliance with Saudi Arabian environmental and occupational health and safety regulations.
• Maintain ISO HSE standard requirements.
• Meet customer HSE requirements.

Contractor and Risk Management

• Manage contractor safety.
• Drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3 to 5 years of work experience in similar industries.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
• NEBOSH Diploma/IGC or equivalent HSE qualification.
• ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor certification.
• Professional certifications such as ASP/CSP, CRSP, Grad IOSH or CMIOSH.

Skills & Competencies

• Hazard Identification Risk Assessment (HIRA): Evaluate hazards within the work environment by applying hazard identification and risk assessment techniques to analyze and prioritize risk, enabling selection of control measures that reduce risk as low as reasonably practicable.
• Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems: Interpret and apply international standards through practical application within the operating environment to achieve and maintain an effective management system and external certification.
• Health, Safety and Environment Incident Investigation and Root Cause Analysis: Examine HSE incidents by completing quality, evidence-based investigations with accurate root cause analysis, resulting in effective corrective actions, accurate reporting and avoiding repeated incidents.
• Health and Safety Fundamentals: Champion and model proactive health and safety behaviors by identifying, reporting and participating in actions to improve health and safety in order to build an interdependent culture and contribute to an injury-free workplace.
• Ergonomic Fundamentals: Understand ergonomic concepts by applying Cummins ergonomic standards, guidelines, controls and tools to reduce ergonomic risk to employees while at work.
• Implementation of Risk Controls: Select and implement risk control methods by utilizing the hierarchy of controls to implement sustainable control measures in order to protect people by reducing overall risks to as low as reasonably practicable.
• Ergonomics Process and Workplace Design: Design, create or adapt processes and workstations by implementing ergonomic controls through the application of Cummins ergonomic design guidelines to reduce risk and deliver ergonomically designed work.
• Management of Health, Safety and Environmental Regulatory Compliance: Identify, interpret and manage legal and other requirements by implementing controls, monitoring and reporting on operational performance to ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental related regulations and standards.
• Industrial Hygiene Management: Design and execute an industrial hygiene program by managing workplace exposure risks and implementing controls using Cummins preferred methodology and industry best practice to meet regulatory obligations and further reduce risk as low as reasonably practical to protect employee health.
• Planning and Prioritization: Plan and prioritize work to meet commitments aligned with organizational goals.
• Customer Focus: Build strong customer relationships and deliver customer-centric solutions.
• Training Delivery: Instruct learners in a manner that engages and adjusts to individual and group needs resulting in knowledge, skills and abilities that can be applied on the job.
