Role Overview

HSE Officer at Al Shirawi Group.

Role Purpose

Prevent ill health, injury and accidents in the workplace through periodic review of HSE plans, implementation of controls at work sites, monitoring of subcontractor performance, and management of risk assessments and corrective actions.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Risk Management

• Develop HSE plan and risk assessment based on site conditions.
• Conduct risk assessment based on changes and ensure tool box talks.
• Review HSE plan and develop control measures to take action on risks.
• Conduct CAPA analysis and review process performance after implementation of control measures.

Site Monitoring & Inspections

• Review safety requirements through daily safety walk around and report to HSE manager.
• Conduct inspection and internal audit to measure effectiveness of control measures.
• Conduct accident and incident investigation and prepare FIR and investigation report.
• Communicate control measures.

Permit & Activity Management

• Implement permit to work system and issue permits for critical activities.

Subcontractor Management

• Manage subcontractor through proper selection, training and control.
• Control subcontractors and report their OH&S performance.
• Review subcontractors performance on upholding safety standards.

Policy & Compliance

• Review and implementation of standard HSE policies and programme.
• Update legal register and ensure implementation of legal requirements in areas of activities.

Consultation & Engagement

• Conduct consultation and participation programme.
• Encourage staff to report near misses and promote safety culture by highlighting safe HSE culture.

Reporting & Analytics

• Manage HSE statistics and report the dashboard to top management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma.
• Bachelor's Degree in Health, Safety and Risk.
• NEBOSH IGC Certified.
• OSHA Certified.
• NEBOSH Certified.
• 4-5 years' experience.
• Valid UAE Driving License.
