Role Overview
HSE Manager at Turner & Townsend. This role supports the delivery of Health, Safety and Environment management across construction projects, ensuring compliance with internal systems and client requirements.

Role Purpose
To develop and implement the Project HSE Management System, including HSE action monitoring and incident reporting procedures in compliance with internal management systems and client requirements. The role provides advice and support to the Project Director/Manager on processes and procedures required to deliver HSE objectives and maintain project owner standards through best practice HSE solutions.
Key Responsibilities
HSE System Development & Implementation
- Manage the development and implementation of Project HSE Management System.
- Manage the HSE action monitoring system and incident reporting procedure.
- Adopt a health and safety assurance process that emphasizes leading indicators effective in developing mitigations to risks on the project site.
Monitoring & Compliance
- Provide best practice HSE solutions on day-to-day monitoring and reporting to maintain Project Owner standards.
- Monitor and review the implementation of HSE standards at the construction site.
- Ensure all contractors and vendors on site have requisite levels of compliant safety training resulting in high hazard awareness.
- Proactively undertake site supervision of works activities to address safety concerns or identified risk activities.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Represent Project Owner to explain HSE construction implementation activities to client candidates.
- Provide advice and support to the Project Director/Manager on required processes and procedures.
- Adopt a collaborative approach to health and safety across the entire project team promoting safety accountability at all levels, including from the client.
Culture & Leadership
- Set a zero-tolerance health and safety culture.
- Ensure all project meetings that the role chairs start with a Health & Safety moment initiated through the dedicated Health, Safety, Wellbeing App.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree qualification in HSE, civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar function.
- Minimum 10 years' experience with HSE projects.
- Experience and knowledge of all main HSE project management concepts, tools and techniques.
- Data Center experience is required.
Skills & Competencies
- Ability to coordinate with concurrent base building works.
- Proficient level with Microsoft Office including MS Project Management.
- Ability to work in fast paced and high-pressure environments to meet tight deadlines.
- Proficient professional skill and knowledge in project management with current awareness of developments and trends.
- Knowledge and ability to use applicable information technology and systems to meet work needs.
- Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work proactively as part of a committed team.
