HSE Executive

Role Overview

HSE Executive at Al Tayer Group. The role assists the General Services Manager and HSE & Security Manager and individual Business Unit HSE Committees in maintaining a robust Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental (OHSE) programme across Al Tayer Motors with a view to ensuring legal compliance and providing a safe and healthy work environment for people, property and assets.

Role Purpose

To support the implementation, maintenance and continuous improvement of health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and frameworks across Al Tayer Motors Business Units, ensuring legal compliance, effective incident management, and a safe workplace for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities

Policy & Framework Implementation

• Participate and support the General Services Manager and HSE & Security Manager in the implementation and maintenance of HSE policies, procedures and framework that will allow individual Business Units to effectively meet HSE objectives and targets, in line with Al Tayer Motors strategy and direction.

Inspections, Audits & Risk Assessment

• Conduct HSE site inspections, audits and HSE Risk Assessments on various facilities or activities performed therein.
• Prepare management reports following inspections and audits.

Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain and update HSE documentation and databases to illustrate compliance of respective Business Units.
• Prepare associated management reports.

Stakeholder Support & Guidance

• Attend Business Unit HSE Committee meetings.
• Offer suitable HSE and ISO expertise, guidance and training to ensure compliance with HSE and ISO frameworks.
• Maintain and manage relationships with in-house clients, service providers, contractors, law enforcement, judicial and civil emergency response authorities.
• Ensure HSE Management functions are administered to the highest degree of professionalism and satisfaction.

Emergency Preparedness & Evaluation

• Attend and evaluate Evacuation Drills conducted by Business Units.
• Prepare management reports with recommendations for improvement.

Incident & Accident Management

• Conduct relevant HSE and Accident investigation trainings with the view to improving incident and hazard reporting and rectification.
• Assist Business Unit HSE Committees to interpret and respond appropriately to incidents and accidents.
• Identify new and emerging threats and root causes.
• Identify areas for improvement and make recommendations to management on how to best mitigate risks.

Communication & Awareness

• Ensure awareness of HSE issues through the correct application of the Al Tayer Motors HSE Communication strategy together with Business Unit HSE Committees.

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate with tertiary level qualification in Occupational Health & Safety, Fire Prevention & Risk Management.
• Formal recognized qualification related to Fire & Safety (preferable).
• 5–7 years work experience in large diverse commercial establishment.
• Experience in conducting risk assessments, fire & emergency response plans or disaster recovery within a corporate environment.
• Experience in implementing and maintaining integrated ISO standards.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to effectively interpret and apply HSE policies, procedures and processes.
• Ability to effectively deliver HSE Training Sessions.
