Role Overview

Housekeeper at American Hospital Dubai, responsible for maintaining assigned areas of the hospital to established standards and protocols.

Role Purpose

Ensure that assigned areas of responsibility are cleaned according to Hospital Policies and Procedures, with completion of all tasks within the duty period while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and Maintenance

• Ensure that the assigned area of responsibility is cleaned according to Hospital Policies and Procedures, including car park areas.
• Ensure that the assigned area of responsibility is free of defects according to American Hospital Dubai's Policies and Procedures.
• Complete all tasks in a safe and qualitative manner.
• Demonstrate knowledge of cleaning procedures, handling of equipment, and cleaning techniques, especially including windows, facades, exteriors, and car park areas.

Operations and Safety

• Ensure that assigned tasks are completed within the period of duty.
• Operate equipment safely and use chemicals safely.
• Utilize resources economically.
• Ensure that Housekeeping keys are logged in and out at all times.
• Advise the Supervisor of any discrepancies, materials, safety clothing, and consumables needed to complete assigned tasks.

Waste Management and Special Tasks

• Play an active role in the waste management code of practice.
• Participate in counting soiled linen from patient care areas.
• Ensure that lost and found property is immediately handed over to security.
• Respond with flexibility to a change of area, task, or in an emergency case.

Qualifications & Experience

• Basic Secondary Education.
• Knowledge of basic housekeeping and cleaning.
• Knowledge of cleaning procedures, handling of equipment, and cleaning techniques, especially including windows, facades, exteriors, and car park areas.
• Physical ability and stamina to perform special tasks well.
• Adequacy of written and spoken English.
