Role Purpose
To serve as the ambassador of the restaurant by interacting with guests via telephone and in person, ensuring timely service and smooth operations. The Hostess is one of the most important positions for influencing guest satisfaction through professional, friendly, courteous, efficient, and timely service.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Greeting & Seating
- Greet and seat guests in the restaurant in a warm and friendly manner.
- Set the tone of welcoming hospitality that continues during the entire guest experience.
- Perform every guest interaction in a friendly and welcoming manner.
Restaurant Operations
- Work as a team with colleagues to ensure timely service and a smooth-running operation.
- Ensure that the front of the restaurant is always covered.
- Keep the entrance to the restaurant as welcoming and attractive as possible.
- Check each table to ensure it is clean and fully set up before any guests are seated.
- Pitch in and help in service whenever the need arises.
Guest Feedback & Service Recovery
- Check with guests to get feedback on the quality of their experience.
- Share any problems that arise with outlet managers but attempt to resolve issues immediately.
Communication & Knowledge
- Maintain professional telephone etiquette.
- Understand and maintain a perfect understanding of reservation policies and procedures.
- Be completely familiar with the services offered in the restaurant and throughout the hotel.
Compliance & Standards
- Understand and adhere to all hotel policies and Standard Operating Procedures regarding guest service, operation, and personal discipline and grooming.
Support Functions
- Work with the Cashier and relieve Cashiers on break.

All members of the Food & Beverage Department are responsible for ensuring that visitors to the hotel are delighted by the quality, creativity, and variety of food and beverage offerings.
