Role Purpose

Perform comprehensive quality inspections of heavy equipment and construction activities at project sites to ensure all work conforms to quality requirements, international codes and standards, and project specifications. Coordinate with discipline inspectors and support subcontractors to maintain consistency and integrity throughout construction.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection and Quality Assurance

• Perform inspection of heavy equipment at site.
• Establish inspection and test plans and record forms in accordance with project requirements and international codes and standards.
• Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements and record results.
• Perform quality activities in accordance with the established quality management system.
• Review Customer's technical specifications, Quality Assurance Plans, QC Procedures and NDE procedures to assist with establishing acceptable working practices for construction activities.

Inspection Control and Coordination

• Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
• Coordinate direct activities with other discipline inspectors to maintain consistency and integrity in overall construction.
• Inspect piping, welding, painting and insulation activities.
• Support subcontractor to ensure quality and efficiency in accordance with project specification.

Welder and Safety Management

• Verify that adequate and valid welder approvals are available.
• Ensure that only approved welders are used in production.
• Perform ERT Member responsibilities for incident and accident situations.
• Respond to chemical spill, fire, working at height and confined space vessel horizontal and vertical search and rescue situations.
• Conduct PSSR Pre Start Up Safety Review assessment.
• Support plant operation and shutdown activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or higher degree in Engineering or equivalent; Fire, Safety, Chemical or relevant majors are preferred.
• Experience in inspecting heavy equipment with SA-CSM Mechanical & Equipments and GI 7.030 inspection and testing requirements.
• Project-based safety control experience gained within the Oil and Gas industry, EPC projects or Petrochemical sector.
