Role Overview

Heavy Duty Driver at Emirates Flight Catering, based in United Arab Emirates.

Role Purpose

Execute safe, timely, and efficient transportation of employees, materials, equipment, and catering items between designated locations while maintaining full compliance with UAE traffic laws, company policies, and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

Transportation & Operations

• Execute transportation duties in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner, adhering to approved schedules, routes, standard operating procedures, and operational instructions.
• Provide safe, punctual, and reliable transportation of employees between accommodation, workplace, and designated pick-up and drop-off locations as per approved routes and schedules.
• Adhere to assigned rosters, trip schedules, and route plans to ensure uninterrupted employee transport services and minimal delays.
• Operate fully loaded vehicles safely and efficiently.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure the safe handling, securing, and protection of passengers, materials, equipment, or catering items during transit to prevent damage, loss, or safety incidents.
• Comply with United Arab Emirates road traffic laws, company transport policies, health and safety standards, and site-specific safety regulations to ensure a safe and compliant operating environment.
• Maintain a respectful, orderly, and secure travel environment through courteous interaction, adherence to conduct standards, and enforcement of transport rules.

Vehicle Maintenance & Inspection

• Conduct thorough pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure vehicles are roadworthy, clean, and operationally ready, reporting defects, damages, or breakdowns promptly.
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and preventive maintenance, including tyre pressure, oil, and water level checks.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain accurate and complete operational documentation, including trip logs, inspections, delivery records, and incident reports, in line with company and audit requirements.
• Identify, report, and escalate incidents, near misses, delays, route deviations, or operational risks in a timely manner to enable corrective action and service continuity.
• Support operational continuity by proactively escalating delays, route challenges, or vehicle issues that may impact employee transportation services.

Teamwork & Professionalism

• Demonstrate professional conduct, effective communication, and cooperation with supervisors, colleagues, and operational teams to support smooth daily operations.
• Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Support operational continuity by adhering to assigned duties and contributing to service reliability through flexibility, responsiveness, and compliance with operational requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Valid United Arab Emirates Driving License, Category 4 (Heavy Truck), with successful completion of the company driving test.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant driving experience.
• Experience in a logistics, transport, aviation, or industrial environment as a Truck Driver or in a similar role.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in written and spoken English, with good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Sound knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and preventive maintenance, including tyre pressure, oil, and water level checks.
• Ability to safely and efficiently operate fully loaded vehicles.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Restricted Area Security Pass.
• Physically fit to perform manual handling tasks, including bending, kneeling, stooping, climbing, and ladder usage.
• Knowledge of First Aid, safety procedures, and basic firefighting (preferred).

• Willingness and flexibility to work in shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays as required.
