Health Care Assistant (TP)

Role Overview

Health Care Assistant (TP) at American Hospital Dubai.

Role Purpose

Support the provision of safe, patient and family-focused quality care. Assist in the daily functioning of the clinic/department in support of patient care while maintaining confidentiality and contributing to the successful achievement of Clinic Operations strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

Patient & Family Care

• Demonstrate skills in assessment of patient and family's physical and psychological needs.
• Demonstrate skill in coordination and planning of care and prioritize care based on individual needs.

Operations & Environment

• Prioritize tasks ensuring effective functioning of the area.
• Keep all medical equipment and examination rooms clean and ready for use.
• Maintain clinic stock as per needs with no expired items.
• Complete environmental assessment of the clinic.

Safety, Compliance & Standards

• Ensure a safe working environment through strict compliance with Hospital Policy and Procedures regarding safety, infection and security.
• Maintain a safe, hygienic working environment in accordance with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
• Ensure Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) and Mandatory Education are completed within the required timeframe.

Additional Duties

• Perform additional duties as specified by the Senior Staff Nurse or Clinic/Nurse Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum of nine (9) years of basic education with eighteen (18) months to two (2) years of Nurse Training, or minimum of twelve (12) years of basic education with one (1) year of Nurse Training and six (6) months Health Care Assistant certification coursework.
• Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience as a healthcare assistant or caregiver.

Skills & Competencies

• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
• Arabic speaker is desirable.
• Demonstrate skills in assessment of patient and family's physical and psychological needs.
• Demonstrate skill in coordination and planning of care and prioritization based on individual needs.
• Heart Saver / Basic Life Support certification.
