Role Overview
Health Care Assistant at American Hospital Dubai, Dubai Media City. This role supports the provision of safe, patient and family-focused quality care within the clinic/department while maintaining confidentiality and contributing to the achievement of Satellite Clinic Operations strategic goals.
Role Purpose
Assist in the daily functioning of the clinic/department in support of patient care. Prioritize tasks to ensure effective functioning of the area while maintaining a safe, hygienic, and compliant working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Patient Care Support
- Demonstrate skills in assessment of patient and family physical and psychological needs.
- Demonstrate skill in coordination and planning of care and prioritize care based on individual needs.
Environmental Management & Safety
- Keep all medical equipment and examination rooms clean and ready for use.
- Ensure a safe working environment through strict compliance with Hospital Policy and Procedures regarding safety, infection and security.
- Maintain a safe, hygienic working environment in accordance with Joint Commission International Accreditation (JCIA) standards.
- Ensure the completion of environmental assessment of the clinic.
Operations & Stock Management
- Ensure clinic stock as per the needs and no expired items.
Compliance & Professional Development
- Ensure the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) and Mandatory Education are completed within the time frame.
Additional Duties
- Perform additional duties as specified by the Senior Staff Nurse or Clinic/Nurse Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of nine (9) years of basic education with eighteen (18) months to two (2) years of Nurse Training, or a minimum of twelve (12) years of basic education with one (1) year of Nurse Training and six (6) months Health Care Assistant certification course.
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years of experience as a nursing assistant.
Skills & Competencies
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Arabic speaker is desirable.
- Heart Saver/Basic Life Support certification.
