Role Purpose

Provide comprehensive academic and administrative leadership for the Chemical and Biological Engineering department, overseeing faculty, curriculum, research, accreditation, and strategic initiatives to maintain and enhance the program's quality and reputation.

Key Responsibilities

Academic Leadership & Curriculum

• Provide academic and administrative leadership for the department.
• Oversee curriculum development and program accreditation processes.
• Ensure the department meets academic quality standards.

Faculty Management

• Lead faculty recruitment, mentorship, and performance evaluation.

Research & Scholarship

• Foster a strong research culture and support faculty research initiatives.

Strategic Partnerships & Student Development

• Build industry partnerships and support student career development.

Resource Management

• Manage the department's budget and resource allocation.

External Representation

• Represent the department within the university and externally.

Qualifications & Experience

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Biological Engineering, or a closely related field.
• Significant record of research, publications, and academic leadership.
• Prior experience as a department head or in a similar leadership role preferred.
• Strong understanding of accreditation standards (ABET or equivalent).

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Fluency in English required.
